Homeschooling families are invited to bring their homeschoolers to Onsight Rock Gym from 11 AM - 3 PM for an fun day of indoor rock climbing at a special, discounted rate. Rock climbing is a great way to stay 1active, fit, and healthy. It not only challenges our bodies, but also engages our minds, teaches valuable problem solving skills, and builds self confidence.

Ages: 6 - 18 years (1st - 12th grade)

Offerings: Monday thru Friday. Check events calendar for upcoming days.

Times: 11 AM - 3 PM

Cost: $16 per climber (Includes day pass + rental gear package). Parents and students who are belaying only and NOT climbing are free of charge. 

Homeschool Climbing Academy 1 & 2

Onsight Rock Gym is pleased to offer homeschoolers a unique, engaging, and challenging alternative to conventional sports with our dynamic, expertly designed, alternative PE course for students in 1st through 12th grade. Through climbing, we aim to help students build self-confidence, learn valuable problem-solving skills, and develop teamwork and leadership skills. Students will develop their social and athletic skills by using their minds and muscles in an environment that fosters healthy active lifestyles. They will make new friendships with other homeschoolers, get in a great workout, and have a blast doing it! 

Students are actively supervised by Onsight’s highly skilled and experienced staff members and will receive individualized and group based instruction.

This 8-week curriculum has been designed to give students an introduction to the sport of indoor rock climbing and will cover the following topics:

• Proper stretching and warm up techniques

• Knot Tying

• Top Rope Climbing

• Bouldering

• Climbing Technique and Movement

• Endurance Development

• Creatively designed climbing games

Ages: 6 years - 18 years (1st - 12th grade)

Spring Homeschool Academy 1:

Monday 2:30 - 4 PM | January 6 - February 24 (FULL)

**Participants must complete and Homeschool Climbing Academy 1 and have coach approval BEFORE registering for Homeschool Climbing Academy 2.

Cost: $179 for entire 8 week course (rental gear included)

***Full gym membership to Onsight is NOT included; A $40 membership add-on for the 8 week period is available upon request.

Siblings receive $10 off each additional registration after one full price registration

Climbing Academy Absentee Policy: Students who miss ONE Climbing Academy session, and notify their coach of that absence, will receive one punch pass + rentals. The punch is to be utilized during the 8 week time period to make up the climb time missed. No climbing instruction will be provided with that punch. After the 8 week session, the punch is no longer valid. We do not recommend missing more than one class as that may inhibit your ability to move to a club program. Students that wish to make up instructional time can purchase private lessons outside of their Climbing Academy day.
