Queer Climbing Night
Queer Climbing Night
Onsight Rock Gym is partnering with The Venture Out Project for a climbing event for those who identify as LGBTQIA+ and want to engage with other queer folk in a recreational atmosphere. We’ll start off with a welcome circle lead by TVOPs volunteer, and then have 3 hours to enjoy the gym together! There is limited space to 20 people for this event as to not overwhelm facilitation, so sign up as soon as possible! While participants will have access to the entire gym, part of the bouldering area will be blocked off specifically for TVOP participants. This event is explicitly 18+, but we hope to have parental approved events in the future.
When: Every First Friday, 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM
Cost: $15 per person. This includes rental shoes, but feel free to bring your own if you have them!
$4 for a rental harness if using top rope or auto belay (Must be belayed certified or with someone belay certified to belay). If you are certified elsewhere, Onsight staff can certify you with them prior to event.
What to bring:
1. Any (nonalcoholic) beverages, food, or snacks you may need! We just ask you be mindful of potential allergens.
2. Any gear you don’t wish to rent.
3. Confirmation email for event participation.
When you arrive at Onsight, sign in at the front desk. The staff and TVOP volunteer will have a roster to check you in, and if you haven’t already, they will have you fill out the facility waiver. Afterwards we’ll set a meeting place in the gym for the welcome circle before we kick off the event!
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Onsight staff or TVOPs volunteer, Aubrey
